Understanding

terrible

events I contend

to witness,

despite faith

in God, spared not their brutal

mark on my psyche.

real random!

i’m left with a choice:

contemplate,

seek answers,

listen for His consoling

words; His solemn voice.

i process

the great mystery

of my life

of freedom:

of the things man created.

can we say all good?

speeding cars,

and high flying planes,

injure both

man and beast,

but intervene, His hand stilled,

Hope buried within.

  1. Man’s freedom, with all its consequences, is a great gift from God! The stanzas are written in the Shadorma form (Shadorma 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllables per line). As I was speeding by in the oposite lane, it’s body crushed by the impact of an oncoming vehicle, this poor animal could only manage to lift its head from the roadway spot where it had just been struck. Feeling immediately sick to my stomach I was left contemplating this tragic scene for the next several weeks.
